Use them carefully. Meetings are often a necessary evil — not the best way to run a winning team. While helpful for deep context or complex topics, they often slow things down. If it’s urgent, solve it now. If not, handle it asynchronously with a Slack message.
At Masterschool, every meeting has a written agenda. It keeps the discussion focused. It helps us manage time. It makes sure people come prepared. The result is better meetings. Clear. Structured. Effective.
A good agenda is one short page. Written simply. No long AI-generated text. No fancy slides. Simplicity and clarity win. They help us move faster and focus on what matters, not on shiny wrappers.
This does not mean we ignore design. The opposite is true. Great design is about removing noise and keeping only what matters.
We show up on time for every meeting – big or small, internal or external. Being on time means being seated in the room or logged into the Zoom link at least one minute before the meeting begins. It shows respect for everyone’s time and helps us stay focused and efficient.
We don't check phones or work on laptops during meetings. It's unprofessional, disrespectful, and slows us down. If you have something urgent to handle—don't be in the meeting. If you're not needed—leave. There's no reason to sit in a room where you have nothing to contribute.
